Most people rarely think about their shoulder until it goes bad and begins to affect their sleep, work, sport, or quality of life. At that point, they think about their shoulder all the time and pain becomes an overwhelming constant concern. What I value most about my work is my ability to restore your shoulder function and help you return to the activities that matter to you. This is what I do: I try the best of my knowledge and experience to fix shoulders-even the most challenging ones!!

As a highly specialised, accredited shoulder surgeon, my goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for your shoulder condition. My principal clinical areas of interest include shoulder replacement (prosthesis), surgery for instability and dislocations, and the treatment of rotator cuff disorders.

Because younger, physically active patients face a greater risk of recurrent instability, early stabilisation may be considered after a shoulder dislocation. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual. I consult at Bliss Street on Tuesday before noon, Thursday around noon and Saturday before noon, and at Clemenceau Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon. The staff who assist me will make every effort to arrange an urgent appointment when needed.

CT imaging plays an increasingly important role in assessing patients who may require shoulder replacement or instability surgery. I use specialised software to create a three-dimensional model of the shoulder, enabling precise preoperative planning. My office can help arrange the imaging best suited to your condition.

For suspected rotator cuff problems, I generally request MRI scans without contrast ("coloured material"), with or without X rays. I perform all rotator cuff procedures arthroscopically using keyhole surgery (known locally as : "laser surgery").

I also specialise in treating nerve conditions around the shoulder. My work includes nerve releases, nerve grafting and nerve transfers, as well as tendon transfers and re-routing procedures. These help paralized shoulders come to life.
